In the entire session of the visit, all the novices were told about all the technicalities and procedures of printing a newspaper by Umesh Dhuliya, which included the origin of machine that was done by Manu graph, the newspapers get printed at a speed of 45000 copies/hour, its capacity is of 20pages (14 colored, 6 black & white), it works on the technique of offset.
The students learned about the maneuver of colors in printing process, process of mounting aluminum plate cylinder of the machine, image transformation through blanket cylinder, printing on sheets of papers, cutting of paper roll through cutter machine and then finally folding of papers and formation.
The students also came to know about a very interesting CTP process that is “computer to plate” process. Here they were told that firstly the confirmed layout is send to them by editor through computer linkups then by new laser technology it is transferred to the aluminum plates and after the processing of 4-5minutes it is exposed and send to the developer. This whole process is done in a dim yellow light as it is safe for aluminum plates.
The visit was successfully executed under the supervision of CC of the Centre Mr. Dhananjai Chopra and Faculty member Mr. Sachin Mehrotra.
