JAGRAN FILM FESTIVAL: A HALL MARK



       On July 16th, Jagran Film Festival started at Rajkaran Palace in Allahabad by the initiative of Dainik Jagran. The guest of Honour were police commissioner Mukesh Vishram, DIG Ram Kumar, poet Ashok Charkdhar, Mayor Jitendra Nath Singh, Rubina Ali child actress of movie Slumdog  Millionare, actress Deepal Sha and Director of film ‘Shor in the City’ Krishn Dike.


     

            The event started with lightening of candle and a welcome speech by Mr.Govind Srivastava Manager Dainik Jagran. He said that many prominent personalities like Seema Kapur, Raveena Tondon and Om Puri are also associated with this festival. He said that with this campaign of Dainik Jagran they want to make people aware of the society.



           Commissioner of Police Mukesh  Vishram  said that this film festival tries to represent every strata of the society. He further added that people like it because it shows the films which are related to their own life also they try to envisage themselves in parallel circumstances.



          Mr.Muniraj the owner of Rajkaran Palace said that this festival is the planned in Rajkaran Palace as both of the institutions namely Dainik Jagran and Rajkaran Palace were established at the time of British Empire. He added that both of the institutions are identical. His speech was followed by the speeches of Jitendra Nath Singh Mayor of Allahabad, DIG Ram Kumar, actress Rubina Ali and Mr.Ashok Charkdhar.



    
         Mr.Ashok Chakrdhar said that if films are the mirror of the society then literature is its shadow. He also told about his film Gulabdi which was also shown in this film festival.




         This film festival lasted for two days and five films were shown that are Bandu Boxer, Teesra Rasta, Shor in the city, Gulabdi and Shoe Shine. People applauded the whole event and welcomed it with open arms.
