SHAPING YOUNG MINDS

A program, “Shaping Young Minds” was organized for promisingprofessional apprentice by Allahabad Management Association at the will of All India Management Association on Saturday 26^th March, 2011 at M.P.Hall of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology. This juncture was graced by the presence of prominent personalities of our nation, Mr.R.S.Sharma former CMD ONGC; Mr.Yasho.V.Verma LG Electronics Indian CEO; Mr.Harsh Manglik Chairman and Geographical M.D.  of Accenture India and NASSCOM Chairman; Mr.Sandeep Pandey social activist and Magsaysy awardee. The event started by inspirational curtain raiser video clip followed by Saraswati vandna, lightening of lamp by R.S .Sharma and welcome speech by professor Krishna Kant, Director of MNNIT, Allahabad.  Conclave was divided into four interactive sessions. Each speaker shared their personal and professional experiences to the audience.

      First session started with R.S.Sharma, former CMD, ONGC who was accompanied by Mr.K.K.Bhutani Ex-professor A.U. and current head of UPTECH. Mr. Sharma was briefly introduced. He articulated his experience as CMD, he recalled the period when he was in Mumbai on 25^th June when ONGC platform destroyed due to fire, 368 people died in this and how he spent his whole night in OSHO with people. He believed “in the crises best of you comes out of you” so; a person should not get panicky at the time of crises. He added, “Learn from everybody and respect everybody” he said that he has learned to restart a computer from his servant. He told that Mr. Narayanmurti, Mr.Mukesh Ambani and Nandan Dilakhi are his role model a he has learned many things from them. He told that for achieving any goal an individual must have courage of confidence; by analyzing his credibility and by trusting others.

Mr.Sharma ended up by giving the message to youths that

   “One must think of living with head high do not compromise dignity.”

            Second session began with introduction of Mr.Yasho V.Verma by Mr. A.K.Jain. Mr.Yasho V.Verma is the only first non-Korean to become CEO of LG electronics. Mr.Verma said that business is about war and global war. Further he added that competition is about excellence and this can be achieved with by 3P’s i.e. People, Process and Passion. He elaborated that few concepts are very important for achieving altitude in career which are one should not be arrogant; breath, live and sleep innovation; freedom for human intellect and empowerment. He ended up by saying that there should be passion to excel and passion comes from inside, it cannot be embayed.

          After this third session began where Mr.Jagdish Khatri, vice president of A.M.A. and head of Sanskar business school gave the introduction of Sandeep Pandey, social activist and Magsasy awardee (Asia’s biggest award).

          Sandeep Pandey said that corruption is promoted by literate people due to their endless desires. Further he added that government is running Sarwa Shiksha Abhiyaan but if everyone will become educated then how will government provide them jobs as day by day the problem of employment is increasing. He talked about several issues like nuclear energy, commercialization, etc. He said that youth know to all serious issues as they are the features of the nation and they must utilize their education for Nobel cause. He advised the youngsters to use the RTI Act provided by our Constitution.

In the fourth session which was the last session Mr.Harsh Manglik was introduced. Mr.Manglik came back to India from U.S.A. after 35 years. He elaborated that there are two things luck or chance but everything is not chance. He said that for excelling in career one should follow his passion i.e. one should opt for his field of interest that sets him on fire. Everyone should put hard work and never say no. He further added that every individual must have ambition and should learn how to learn. He said that failures are good they teach you. Do not get depressed to re-start and try to move-on. He added that “everyone should build their own compass-must not bother what others say and give more than take not only money but also do good things.” In the end he told his mantra for success which consist of five things and they are dreams, courage, doing hard work, empathy and integrity.

            This is how the four sessions ended which was followed by vote of thanks by S.C.Gupta, president A.M.A. and curtain downer an inspirational video clip in the end.
