Chief Minister Mayawati is Modern Edwin – criticized but would be extol in approaching years…..






Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati is now a celebrity, a star and modern times Edwin-some will say tarnished - for stiffing numerous huge statues in Lucknow and Noida of dalit idols like B R Ambedkar, Kanshi Ram and herself. This is, of course, a pompous polity implement. Nonetheless history might in due course memorize her not just as a dalit neta but also as the Edwin of this Era.

This is no different from denigration by Indian nationalists of Edwin and the British Raj, who were also alleged of slaying huge money on majestic edifices while populaces famished. Nobody remembers that denigration of Edwin any more. The same will one day be true of Mayawati. Furthermore like some Political Pundits I am also of the view that covering statues in these parks will not harm her in these elections.


Her New Lucknow has ostentatious spacious infrastructure and snobbish hotels next to the great parks. They seem massively high-class compared with the collapse, jam-packed passageway of the old city. Critics criticize that she is generating a splendid novel area for a new-fangled cream of the crop while neglecting old quarters. They concede that the parks are undeniably immense unwrap spaces that the civic can use, but say it's awful to fritter millions on a New Lucknow alike Edwin (New Delhi from Old Delhi) while parting the old city engrossed in muck and overlook. Edwin commemorated canon by the British colonial race. Mayawati is commemorating canon by the small fry (dalit), a phenomenon ended feasible by democratic system. In this respect, New Lucknow beats New Delhi. Lastly also gives the message that Edwin’s New Delhi might be transformed in coming times into Mayawati’s New Delhi.

A new room to improvise with an adjustable eye- Photo Exhibition






The young curious eyes with a vision in their mind composed and captured the beauty to be a memorable thought for life. 0n 23rd February 2012, Center of Media Studies witnessed the passion for photography of its three students of B.A in Media Studies SEM IV; Prateek Pathak, Saurabh Agarwal and Suheena Gupta by organizing their photography exhibition at Nirala Art Delegacy.





The three days exhibition was inaugurated by Prof. G.K Rai, Director IPS and was followed by words of appreciation by him. Prof. Rai was immensely delighted to see the budding photographers whose work contained gravity of devotion for their work. He motivated students to rise above the cobweb of marks and percentage and acquire the skills required for their profession. He also congratulated the teachers of CMS for taking keen interest in promoting the talents of their students.




Each of the budding photographers with their perception painted a thought trough their cameras. The cascade of their thoughts reached to the viewers and everyone present appreciated the splendid work.




Photography is much beyond the truth and reality, it’s about the interpretation of ones surrounding and it gives the viewers the opportunity to find several avenues in a single snapshot. The caption with every photograph added enormity to the clicks.




The vivid range of photographs provided the viewers with spices of all kinds. The amazing Jama Masjid photograph on one hand assimilated the tranquility of the celestial ambiance; on the other hand the pictures of flowers and insects life on them spoke of the beautiful creation of god. All the photographs were mesmerizing and treat for the eyes.
It was an overwhelming moment for CMS as it added a new thread of achievement into its colourful fabric.




Allahabad Post takes the pleasure of organizing their first event in collaboration with Centre of Media Studies, University of Allahabad. The photography exhibition would continue on 24th and 25th of February 2012.
